It is really exciting to listen to Christine Paul curator.
I have been experimenting and using the computer and integrating images including my existing original paintings.
Recently I juts completed a video of my Impressions of China,
Also printed out images on paper.
This is a very exciting media, and I agree with Christine Paul, that the future offers endless possibilities.

American corporates have always have always controlled and over charged their loyal users for everything. There are no better examples than Apple's over pricing over rated products. They control the widgets, the widgets controls the widgets users.

Microsoft's control over computer manufactures, that's force them to install windows on every computer, Now Microsoft want to control what operating systems and software can be installed on computers, by forcing manufactures to install Microsoft's Bios secure boot if they want to install and use windows 8 logo, This may happen in America but it won't happen in the rest of the world

MS as become an none entity in many countries, through their greed and monopoly. Country after country are/have dumped Microsoft. Today there is a report that Brazil have passed a law forcing every one to use FLOSS (Free Linux Open Source Software, The Brazil government and education departments are saving a million dollars a week using FLOSS.

Russian government have passed the same laws, every government office and education department must use FLOSS by 2015. Europe,India.Pakistan Turkey Taiwan Korea, are all moving to FLOSS. They are all feed up of being controlled and over charged by Microsoft's monopoly.

Photoshop users start looking for the Free Open Source alternatives don't let Adobe control you! You be the ones in control.

em. I'm a professional web developer. I've been using adobe master collection until that one time when I realized what a god damn bloat it is. I've switched to inkscape and gimp about a year ago and couldn't have been more happier. So fast and snappy. You remember how fast photosohop used to open in previous versions - yeah - it's getting fatter and fatter with every version.

Can't wait for gimp 2.8 to come out - this january hopefully.

Elaine,
The people at Adobe would do themselves a favor by reading Mussolini's
Doctrine Of The Corporate State. That a lot of big (& small corporations) continually fix prices with impunity is nothing new. That they can (meaning Adobe & others in Silicon Valley & elsewhere) continue to go on with price fixing is not hard to explain.
        R.P.

This is news to me. I first heard Stephen speak of it in the SD Photoshop Users group, but didn't know the entire scope of what Adobe is or wants to do.

I think it is PURE GREED going on and I always thought that monopolies were against the law...maybe I'm wrong. But, it bothers me that after spending the amount of money I spent on the CS5 suite, that I could be FORCED by a corporation to do things their way...so much for Adobe's reputation as motivating.

Now to force people to work on a cloud? That is dictatorial and reeks of greed....I for one would not upgrade to CS6 under these guidelines.

American corporations as big as Adobe and others not even related to photography have got to get a grip and look outside the windows of all the struggling people in the country. I suppose having a heart went out with the age of the computer?

You should be HELPING loyal users of the software to make a livelihood for themselves with their art, using your tools, instead of sticking your greedy hands into their pockets AND now you are virtually forcing rules on creating of art itself...never mind the privacy factor. One cannot produce art in public anymore with the ease of stealing it as it is.

I don't know anyone who thinks this is ok. Maybe Adobe CEOs need to take a long look into the mirror instead of their bank accts. Not to mention the cloud concept....NOT GOOD!

I leave you now "in the spirit of Christmas"...If you're not part of the solution, you are part of the problem!

Steve:

I am very upset with the pricing changes because there are tens of thousands of people who use photoshop and Adobe products that use photoshop and other products for their own enjoyment and not for profit. This move forces the part time user to rethink using Adobe products for it will be difficult to afford. It seems to me that Adobe is under the impression that all users are professionals which is not the case.

In my case, Photoshop is the only program I have ever used along with a little bit of Lightroom.....I know very little of "Windows".

Thank You,

Pat Crepeau

thanks Max and Andrew for this insightful, educational, and informative interview. So happy to recently befriend Andrew Reach and to Meet Max is a delight. I was inspired by this interview and it helped to rekindle a fire inside of me. One particular point in the interview in reference to the influence of African Art on contemporary European Art took me back to the series of course works in African Art and Archeology at OSU and how the West African "Fang Mask" had a dramatic impact on the shaping of the European "Impressionistic" period: artists such as Picasso and Klee. Thanks you again, the two of you for such a thorough interview. I hope to become involved in future projects with you both.
